Curly hair tips for the Summer

Now that summer is officially here, combating humidity and sweat is on our list of priorities, especially when it comes to our hair. In this post, I would like to share with you some of my best curly girl hacks that I have learnt over the years that have actually worked for me. 



#1: Seal in the moisture
Moisturizing and conditioning are no strangers to our curly hair routine. However sealing in your leave-in conditioner with a non drying gel like Eco Argan Oil Gelcan help retain that moisture and keep your curls intact and frizz-free.
#2: Get your mane trimmed
Ideally, getting your hair trimmed every 6 to 8 weeks should keep your hair frizz free.You can just get a hair trim this summer and you’ll see the difference.
#3: Don’t brush the curls
Brushing your hair will only cause more frizz and breakage. Use your fingers or a wide tooth comb instead.
#4: Protect your hair from the sun
Just like skin, hair can get damaged from excessive exposure to the sun. Wearing a scarf or a hat can help protect your hair from the sun’s harsh UV rays(You're definitely thriving in this department if you're a hijab!).
Another tip would be using hair products that contain UV filtering properties like Shea butteror Sesame oil.
#5: Co -Wash
Because we tend to wash our hair more often during summer, a condition wash is the way to go, so you don't strip your hair off its moisture leading to that frizz that were trying to avoid.
#6: Wash n Go’s
Enjoy your wash n gos during summer since your hair will dry quickly and will look great throughout the day. I also try to avoid tying my hair up when its wet to avoid split ends. 
#7: Deep condition weekly
Here I go again with the weekly deep condition. Its the solution for every curly hair problem (literally). Trust me on this, deep condition your hair once a week for a month and your hair will thank you.
